Every year, Athens Photo World organizes a series of outdoor exhibitions, aiming to bring the public into direct contact with contemporary photographic news coverage, i.e. photojournalism. Captivating shots by leading Greek and foreign photographers, on topics such as everyday life across the globe and sports, are exhibited every summer in centrally located, vibrant parts of the city. 

This year’s theme is “Nature and the Environment,” featuring photos that capture the topic through the eyes of late Yannis Behrakis and thirty-three other Reuters photographers: Umit Bektas, Antonio Bronic, Rodolfo Buhrer, Amir Cohen, Amit Dave, Nacho Doce, Anushree Fadnavis, Jose Luis Gonzalez, David Gray, Hannibal Hanschke, Yves Herman, Danish Ismail, Lucas Jackson, Sigtryggur Johannsson, Chris Keane, Clodagh Kilcoyne, Dan Koeck, Alkis Konstantinidis, Alexey Malgavko, Rafael Marchante, Hannah McKay, David Mercado, Stelios Misinas, Monicah Mwangi, Ilya Naymushin, Lisi Niesner, Mohamed Nureldin, Baz Ratner, Pascal Rossignol, Maxim Shemetov, Borja Suarez, Ann Wang, and Arnd Wiegmann. 

The exhibition aims to highlight the beauty of our planet, as well as to urge us to reflect on the impact of human activity on Earth. 

The show was curated by Reuters Chief Photographer for Greece and Cyprus Alkis Konstantinidis, and Athens Photo World Artistic Director Thanassis Stavrakis.
