Counting backwards, at a glance, this section focuses on the events which have been implemented, since the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) announced the grant for the creation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in 2009, up to the completion of the project’s construction and its delivery to the Greek State in 2016, and its official launch of its activities in 2017.

During these years, the events presented in this section were designed with the ultimate goal of supporting the smooth operation of the SNFCC and of promoting to the general public, which is and always has been the main beneficiary of the SNF’s initiative, the values that the project aspires to represent. Through a series of actions, such as meetings with governmental and local representatives, collaborations with the official bodies of the National Library of Greece and the Greek National Opera—the future “residents” of the SNFCC—but also by organizing various educational and cultural events, the SNF tried to approach this multifaceted project through a complete and comprehensive approach. The vision and objective behind these actions was, and still remains, to convey to all prospective visitors that the SNFCC is addressed to all, is open and accessible to every social group and, therefore, aims to become an integral part of their daily lives.
